Sell the hour nobody else is selling

Ninety-Eight 09.09.2026 Positioning Hospitality

Every restaurant in the city is fighting for the same three hours. Which means the cheapest piece of unclaimed positioning in hospitality is not a cuisine or a price point or an interior. It is a time of day.

Walk down any high street in Delhi NCR at eight in the evening and every table is a competitor. Walk down the same street at three in the afternoon and most of those rooms are empty, staffed, lit, paying rent, and selling nothing. The kitchen is warm. The lease is running. The only thing missing is a reason to be there.

That gap is a positioning opportunity, and it is almost always available, because a daypart cannot be copied quickly. A competitor can match your menu in a month and your interiors in a season. Matching an afternoon means retraining a staff rota, rewriting a kitchen’s prep cycle and persuading a city that a habit it does not have is a habit it should.

Khubani: manicures at one in the afternoon

The clearest version we have run. Khubani built a “spa lunch” — you eat, and you get your nails done while you do it — and put it on the sign, in the caption and in every creator brief: Gossip & Glam-Up. Everyday 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Read that as a marketing line and it is cute. Read it as a positioning statement and it is doing four things at once. It names the occasion, so nobody has to invent a reason to go. It names the hours, so the offer is unambiguous. It names the company you keep, so the room self-selects. And it claims a block of the clock that not one competitor within a mile was contesting.

The creator stack was built to match: five hero creators across fashion, fitness, beauty, social impact and micro, seventeen-plus frames, around 888K combined reach. The same venue also runs a Levantine night-vibe sister concept, Habibi by Khubani, which is the second half of the same idea — two concepts, one address, two dayparts.

A menu can be copied in a month. An hour takes a year.

The Weekend: Rock ’n’ Brunch

The Weekend, on the upper deck of Gardens Galleria in Noida, ran the same manoeuvre on a Sunday. Brunch is a crowded word; a brunch with a live band and a name that reads like a gig listing is not. Twenty creator handles across four audience verticals, 2.55M combined reach, and a three-week concentrated launch window — a constellation aimed at one recurring slot rather than at the venue in general.

That is the part people miss. The daypart play is not a promotion. It is what the creator campaign is about. Every frame points at the same hour, so the city learns one thing instead of five.

Sky Lantern: a Sunday made into a season

And the most ambitious of the three. Sky Lantern’s Panchsheel Park courtyard ran a winter Sunday luncheon — a single recurring afternoon — and twenty-two creators across seventy story frames treated it not as an event but as a standing fixture. Combined reach 3.52M, thirteen verified handles. A luncheon becomes a season when the creator stack behaves as though it already is one.

How to find yours

The question we ask a hospitality client in the first meeting is not what they serve. It is: which hours are you already paying for and not selling? Then: what is the smallest true thing that could happen in that hour that nobody else in this postcode is offering? Then: is it repeatable weekly, so it can become a habit rather than a visit?

If those three answers exist, the campaign more or less writes itself — because for once there is nothing to out-shout. There is only something to announce.

Sourcing. Khubani — 5 hero creators, 17+ frames in highlight, ~888K combined reach, two concepts (Khubani and Habibi by Khubani); the “Gossip & Glam-Up, Everyday 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM” line is the venue’s own. The Weekend — 20 creators activated, 7 verified handles, 2.55M combined follower reach, three-week concentrated launch window, Gardens Galleria, Noida. Sky Lantern — 22 creators, 13 verified, 70 story frames, 3.52M combined follower reach, Panchsheel Park. The daypart pattern is number three of the seven in the previous piece.
